After completing the re-design earlier today (and quite happy with the result), I will start considering the code and functionality (service) migration into this new website concept.

Gearing up for relaunch of Queryhouse.com

The current version of queryhouse never really took off, despite a few nifty offerings. Furthermore the design, though lovely graphically - was a poor user experience.

I have come to realize that I can make the interface much less intemidating, but still use/re-use alot of the same advanced functionality.

Furthermore the site will get a completely new simplified look and feel, hopefully adding to the user experience.

Progress update

Work on the site is progressing at a somewhat relaxed pace and I foresee a lot of long hours ahead. But things are continuously being crossed of the check-list (and new ones added!), so things are moving along.

Behind the scenes a lot of the unresolved issues are now corrected and the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter.

Most of the website tools are functioning; however none of them are out of BETA yet a few are not even that far.

On the front-end the menu structure has been modified. It appears that the difference between HTML tools and HTTP tools confused people, so they have now been merged into a single section titled: WEB. This leaves the site with a 3 top menus structure, which I personally find to be a nice and neat solution. The menus being: DNS, WHOIS and WEB under which relevant tools can (slash will) be found.

Today I wrote and implemented an RSS (RSS 2.0, XML 1.0) feed generator on top of the, for now, limited content. The feed is live and a link to the service can currently be found at the front page (above this entry), just look for the classic orange RSS-feed icon. So if you wish to be in the loop in regards to the progress of the site, which would be an easy way for you to do so.

Currently the only RSS feed subscriptions offered is the one covering these here news updates. Hopefully feeds for other areas of Query house.com will be available shortly.

The site is now for the most part technically working. Still a few issues here and there, but the launch preparations are now under way - thus this first news update.
